Dynasty Checklist - March 2026
Back like we never left???
The 2026 NFL Combine just wrapped up, and man, the athletic fireworks were off the charts. I’m talking RAS SZN from MathBomb blowing up my feed, and the twitter vibes electric. If you’re not reacting to these speed demons, your league mates will bury you in April.
Side note: This class feels like 2024 on steroids with the freak athletes. Remember 2024 hype around Anthony Richardson’s 40? Multiply that by the TEs and WRs we saw this weekend.
Forty times will absolutely not matter… until they do.
These are our typical headlines every year, and I wrote this prior to these guys going insane last week.
Every WR/RB 40.
Any QB under 6’2 measurables.
Anyone who weighs 12 pounds more or less than expected.
Someone running a 4.36 and jumping 41” and immediately moving up 18 spots in rookie mocks.
I’m mostly interested in confirmed athleticism, who was slow, who skipped, and is there any external factors making for weird performances? Like wtf was makai lemon doing?
Basically combine numbers shouldn’t really adjust tiers — and they shouldn’t create them from scratch — more on that later!
Evaluate your rookie targets accordingly.
Anyway, let’s dive in.
Week 4 – February/Week 1 March (The Aftermath)
Designate Franchise/Transition Players: Deadline hits today, March 3, at 4:00 p.m. ET.
I think it’s obvious who we’re watching here—guys like Kyle Pitts (probably getting tagged again), Breece Hall, George Pickens, and Kenneth Walker III. Don’t sleep on how this shakes up veteran values in your dynasty squads.
If these players are tagged or not, can have huge butterfly effects on the draft.NFL Scouting Combine Analysis: Whew, what a show. The “Freak” of the Year has to be Jeff Caldwell (WR, Cincinnati)—6’5”, 216 lbs, blazing a 4.31 40 with a 42-inch vert. Bruce Feldman called his 10-yard split “scary” for that size, and Matt Miller’s already pounding the table for him as a dynasty darling. Could be this year’s Puka Nacua if he lands right.
The Record Breaker: Kenyon Sadiq (TE, Oregon) with that 4.39 40 at 241 lbs—shattered the TE record and has the X crowd calling this TE class historic for athleticism. If you play in TEP leagues, these thresholds are screaming future studs. Dont forget about Eli Stowers from Vandy too.
The RB Risers: Mike Washington Jr. (Arkansas) locked in with a 4.33 at 223 lbs—massive riser, potentially ending the RB dead zone talk. Jeremiyah Love didn’t disappoint either, looking like a locked-in 1.01 in dynasty mocks. Where are we taking Mike Washington Jr.? 1.05?
Omar Cooper Jr. (Indiana) might not have the fastest time, but his route-running efficiency has the scouts buzzing—could be a sleeper WR convert for PPR upside. Fallers to Note: On the flip side, Malachi Fields’ slow 4.61 has him tumbling in risers/fallers threads.
Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson didn’t wow either—might create buy-low ops if their tape holds up or if their agents aren’t able to work their magic a la the pro day times/agent media schemes like ricky the twitter athlete’s first agent who’s profile picture is a dog wearing a hat.
Check out Taylen Green’s near-perfect 9.99 for QBs, or the TE group’s average over 9.0.
Fernando Mendoza weighed in at 236 lbs, solidifying that “Tank QB” vibe— It’s going to be an overdramatic event excited to see throws at his Pro Day. He’s a wagon.
Mock SZN: Post-Combine mocks from Kiper, Miller, and DJ 2.0 are dropping—notice how speed WRs like Deion Burks (4.30) and Zachariah Branch are climbing into mid-1st territory.
Check out matthew berry’s things he heard from the nfl combine. Might be time to pick up Derek Carr….
The WR class being faster than 2025 has me reconsidering my stance on late 1sts already.
Trade Tools: FantasyCalc’s real-world data is clutch—cross-reference with KTC for hype levels.
Side note, with all these risers like Eli Stowers (45.5 vert record), values are shifting fast; check how your trades from last month aged but don’t overreact. This is a good time to take advantage of values that don’t align with your gut feelings.Evaluate your Team: With these verified speed scores pouring in, ask yourself—do you have enough depth? If not, target those mid-round darts before the hype train leaves the station.
Week 2 – Pro Days & Visits
College Pro Days Begin: This is where the combine skippers shine—workouts start rolling, with private dinners and interviews allowed. I’m sure we’ll get missing data like more shuttle times or agilities.
Key Pro Day Dates:March 5: Indiana (The Mendoza Show) – Biggest throwing session of the spring, and with his size, scouts are vibing him as a can’t-miss Superflex 1.01 per X chatter.
March 10: Ohio State (Carnell Tate/Arvell Reese)—Tate’s meh Combine might drop him, creating value.
March 12: Oregon (Kenyon Sadiq/Jordan James)—Sadiq’s record could get even more buzz here.
March 18: Alabama (Ty Simpson/Jam?)—QB riser after accurate throws. March 20: USC (Makai Lemon/Duce Robinson)
March 24: Notre Dame (Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price)
March 26: Georgia (The usual factory of speed)—Always drops gems.
Draft-Eligible Facility Visits (Top 30): Be on the lookout for MISDIRECTION, but if a top-10 team hosts Washington Jr., that RB musical chairs gets wild. Can be some interesting indicators for hometown teams too and late round dart throws.
Coaching Hires: Finalize your feelings on an “OC Tracker.”
Which schemes love these high-speed vertical threats? Too many changes this offseason—feels like half the league shuffled. Starting to get excited about what David Blough has to offer for Jayden Daniels, or Mike LaFleur for Malik Willis?
Week 3 – Free Agency & Transactions
March 9–11: Negotiation Period: The legal tampering window—expect leaks on X from insiders like Diana Russini/Adam Schefter/Ian Rappoport/Tom Pelissero. Saquon/Henry/Jacobs moves from 2 years ago here. Is Allgeier/Etienne/Dowdle going to be new RB1s somewhere?
March 11 (4:00 p.m. ET): New League Year: Your 2026 rookie picks hit peak value now. This time last year was outta control with WR deals—maybe QB-focused this go-round?
Trading Period Opens: This is your primary window to move picks.
The “Tell”: Teams that don’t address RB in Free Agency are screaming their intent to draft Jeremiyah Love or Mike Washington Jr. in April.
March 15:
End of the Negotiation Period: No further contracts can be executed until this date.
Clubs must submit qualifying offers to restricted free agents before this time.
Top 51 Rule: Watch for surprise cuts—vets with big cap hits could be cleared for the new crop. The cap isn’t real unless you are a RB or defensive player.
RB Musical Chairs: Where do the vets end up? This dictates if Love is a 1.01 lock. We’ll be glued to the usual twitter handles for news—free agency might be quiet, but dynasty impacts are huge. He could end up having a Jeanty year in 2026 where he starts slower with a worse team.
Be on the lookout for Draft resources: Folks are dropping Combine winner breakdowns in predictive drills—share ‘em as you find ‘em, including spreadsheets and guides. They’ll beef up by now. Your favorite fantasy analysts might be dropping their draft guides soon. Support your local fantasy football nerd!
Week 4 – Outlook & Party Planning
Review your 2027 contract situations: Always eyeing sell highs/buy lows—guys like aging RBs staring at the cliff (Henry vibes from last year).
Check articles on contract outs on some of you players. Tee Higgins? AJ Brown? Saquon? 2027 might be the year these players are on the move (again). Good time to think about value considerations. Firm holds right now.
March 26–29 Annual League Meetings
Buzz on rule changes, like the “Browns Proposal” for trading picks 5 years out. Will it pass? Look for the annual league photo of coaches and find some laughs from the million dissections of the picture.Evaluate your Team: One last pre-April check—are you pushing chips in or stacking 2027 capital? Make the decision before your league mates do.
Plan Your Draft Party:
What are we doing? When? Where?
Just send the damn text/email—Also, you may all be adults, adults thrive on those calendar invites.Post-Combine Dynasty Intel
The “Speed” Tier: Ryan Heath and Nate Tice are all over how this WR class crushes 2025 in athleticism—hoard those late 1st/early 2nds for vertical threats like KC Concepcion or Chris Brazzell. Some other interesting sleepers like
The “Mendoza” Factor: Massive hype on Fernando Mendoza (QB, Indiana)—even sans throwing, scouts vibe him as Superflex gold.
Late-Round Darts: Caldwell’s the Twitter darling, but don’t miss TEs like Stowers or risers like Demond Claiborne. Podcasts from the dynasty crowd are filler for buy/fade advice—check their overreactions episodes.
Good luck, Governor. The trade board’s moving faster than Sadiq’s 40—stay disciplined, dodge the Pro Day hype traps, and trust the RAS. March is where champions grind.
Bonus Data Viz project brought to you by Dedmon
Or don’t trust the RAS? A bonus section, you love to see it, the haters thought I couldn’t.
Just for fun I have been working through some data viz projects. I pulled historical RAS and subcategories and created some scatterplots for speed (40 times) vs explosiveness (cone) and overlayed the 2026 class. I’m not sure if this is actually helpful, but it is something I guess. Gee look at that. Numbers!
Athleticism, particularly speed and size, is valuable for dynasty league success, especially for running backs and wide receivers. Unfortunately while a high RAS score is not a guarantee of success, it can be a useful tool in player evaluation (looking at you Bhayshul). We need to remember is just one of many tools we use to make evaluations in our quest for ultimate glory.
Unless he’s your guy. Then it confirms everything.
